Hi all. I made a rookie mistake and entered an entire score in concert pitch instead of transposed pitch that includes transposing instruments. Is there any way I can switch it to maintain the notes inputed to transposing pitch and avoid key signatures to get a good audio playback? Thanks in advance.
Welcome to the forum.
It should be straightforward (though perhaps tedious) to apply the correct transpositions to each Player.
I’d guess that your concert pitch score has local key signatures for each of the transposing instruments (else they would not appear on a concert pitch score). Once you have transposed pitches, you should be able to delete those and the transposed score would be correct.
It would be much easier to confirm this if you upload the file.
Thanks, Janus. There are no key sigs in the entered score and the entered pitches include weird enharmonic choices that need to be maintained. I can (tediously) apply the correct transposition but then I have key sigs pop up. This is what I am doing - notes entered already in concert pitch. I switch to tranposed pitch and change all of the notes for the transposed instruments but it applies a key signature that I don’t want (the music is atonal).
If you apply the transposition using the shift-I popover, no key signatures will appear.
So for example. Select a Bb Clarinet part (incorrectly entered at transposed pitch).
Do shift-I t-M2 and all notes will be transposed down a major 2nd.
(EDIT: just repeat this for each instrument with their appropriate transposition. “weird enharmonics” can be sorted out later!)
Thank you Janus.
