Transposing layouts - is it possible to change octaves part way through the music?

I’m loving the Clef and Transposition overrides. I have layouts for a melody in C, Bb, Eb and bass clef.

The only problem for me is that the range of the recorders isn’t as large as the other instruments. I’m assuming that there’s no way to transpose a section of a melody in only a single layout and that I’ll have to copy the music to a new player if I want to give the recorders a more comfortable range. (I’d like to transpose four bars down an octave. Not the whole piece, and only for the recorders.)

The workaround is easy and I know how to do it, but I figured I might as well ask anyway in case I’m missing something. Is it possible to change the octave on just a few notes in a specific layout?

A bit convoluted, but you could do this:

In Notation Options, set Clefs with 8ve indicator to Respect Octave Indicator

Insert clefs changes in your Recorder Layout:

Hide them in the other ones (With Local Properties set to Locally)

Then, select the Clefs in the Recorder layout and set their color to transparent and their scale to 1%:

Interesting trick! Thanks.

In my current project it’s easier to have a separate player for the recorder parts, but this is a neat option to have if I’m doing a larger project.
