I have a score in A with transposing instruments (saxophones) i want to create version in Ab (since for the saxophone is easier, they would read in F)
I Duplicate the Layout and change the Transposition overrides ( i also have to duplicate al the parts!!!) accordingly. It works (tedious for all parts) but i can’t have a version of the Score in Ab and displayed in CONCERT PITCH since (naturally) concert pitch won’t change, and we are allowed only to change the octave in concert pitch override.
Am i missing something?
Making two separates files is the only option i’ve found.
Thank you
Ciao @produzionidalbosco, another approach (probably easier for such cases, if you happen to have only one flow in your Project) instead of using the layout transposition overrides, would be to have a duplicate flow whose music will be transposed (in Ab), and to create duplicate layouts for this second flow:
Dorico file example:
different transposition in separate flow.dorico (1.4 MB)
Of course if you already have multiple flows in your project, the two separate projects approach is better.

That’s what i’m doing right now, but if i change something i do have to change it in both flows!
Here another similar approach (a combination of parts transposition overrides and a new transposed flow only for the full score in Ab): you have duplicated layouts, which point to flow 1 (A version) with the transposition overrides only for the “(lower)” parts, so all the changes made in the score (Flow 1) will be reflected automatically in those parts. Only for the full score (in Ab), when you change something in flow 1 you need to recreate the flow 2 (duplicate flow 1 and rename), recreate a Full score layout pointing to flow 2, then transpose the flow 2:
Dorico file example 2:
different transpositions (overrides for parts and separate flow for full score).dorico (1.4 MB)

Thank you! clever, but i think, i will stick with 2 flows and copying and pasting the changes. Also in this particular case i don’t need the A version anymore, but i was wondering if Dorico has a natural way to handle such cases!
Thank you very much!
If you have one flow in A and another in Ab, and you don’t want the one in A anymore, you can just delete the flow in Setup mode. Select the flow to delete, in the bottom panel, and then click the trash can icon (or right click and choose Delete).
Yes i know it.
I just wanted to know if there were a way to have both the keys of A and Ab and have the changes reflected in both the versions without using different flows and usind different layouts . But you can’t have different keys in displayed in concert pitch.
So it’s very easy
As @asherber suggests, just delete the A flow, just leave the Ab flow, and its Full score layout, (and you don’t need transposition overrides for the layouts anymore)
Edit:
I see. Well I showed some possibilities: you choose what is best for you
