Tremolos on dotted values?

Adding some tremolos in a score and ran into a problem. I worked out that I enter the value that the tremolo occurs over and Dorico converts it when the tremolo is added. My problem is that I have one that won’t work. In 4/4 time a tremolo over the duration of three beats. So I entered two dotted quarters, but it won’t add the tremolo. Maybe because the second was changed to an eighth tied to a quarter?

Yes.
You need to force duration before creating the second dotted quarter.

Thanks - just found that. I knew there was a way to force that, but couldn’t remember how. Had just come back to say, “Never mind…”
