Tremolos tied to non tremolo note best practices?

I’m new to Dorico, and I seem to be understanding that you must be in engrave mode to negate the tremolo mark on the last note in a tie. Is there a way to make this a keyboard shortcut in engrave mode? What are the best practices here to make this a very quick process? I’m coming from Sibelius and it seems just a little cumbersome to create such a common notational thing. Maybe help me also understand why this is the Dorico way? Thanks!

Welcome to the forum, Aaron. The simplest way to achieve this notation at present is probably simply to use a slur between two notes of identical pitch, rather than a tie. Given that the tremolo represents multiple notes, it’s not really a tie in the traditional sense anyway.
