I had written this one using Spitfire BBC Symphony Orchestra and some solo instruments from 8dio. I submitted a revised version to a call for scores (using the new scoring tool in Cubase 14). I didn’t win the call for scores, but they opted to do a reading that I was able to record. So here it is:
Beautiful. Congratulations
That’s really good, thanks for sharing!
Bravo. A wonderful tribute. If only you could have mic’ed the angels choir. I am sure I could hear them back there singing along with you. May God bless and bring you peace.
Thanks, all, first time I had one of my compositions performed by someone other than myself or my mother!
Hi Leon,
That’s so cool in every respect. Congratulations on the work and the chance to hear real people play it.
Jonathan
Really very well written and very well developed. Bravo! Thank you for this sparkling sharing.
Marvelous! ![]()
Thanks so much for giving it a listen!
Beautiful. Calls all the time “please build a really expensive disney movie around me!”.
Ha! Was not thinking this was Disney ready.
That really is a super piece of music. So well crafted and beautifully performed.
Thanks, Philip!
Leon, congratulations on a stunningly beautiful piece. Amazing. I love your rich, dense harmonics, Philip Glass-ish textures and beautiful melodies.
Not only Disney ready, but also concert hall and chamber music festival ready. Maybe this could be extented into a suite? This amazing work needs to be released and performed! ![]()
I am already a huge fan of your work, by the way. Your track “History of Fire Part 2” has a special place in my heart. Can’t wait to hear what’s next – and please do release more music! ![]()
Thanks, eirik_myhr. It is nice to know that somebody likes what I’m doing! I have been very slow at composing, but I have something in the works. And there is a very good chance that Tribute to my Sister will get played in a concert within the next year.
Absolute cracker Leon! A lovey tribute to your sister.
Steve.
Thanks, Steve!
Terrific realization of your work. I haven’t been on here much since earlier this year to hear any of this, but I just stumbled on your own recording of this via hearing a Stephco recording over on Soundcloud. Great composition, and you must be pleased. I kind of remember you mentioning returning to gigging in one of the more recent things I’d read from you. I too did that earlier this year, and it really did cut into time for writing and recording my own stuff. Happy to say, I did just finish something new that I’ll be sharing here. In the meantime, this was great.
All the best,
John
Must have been a wonderful experience. Great piece of music.
Thanks, John, looking forward to hearing your new one. Been gigging a lot, so haven’t composed much lately.
