I went to steinberg.net to find free downloads. I downloaded Treibwerk, but was then notified that this plug-in was on the Blocklist.

Any ideas why this is the case and how I can change its status?

It’s not a free software as far as I can see….so if you solve the issue with it being blacklisted you’ll just hit the issue of it being unlicensed.

So I would guess it’s not silicon compatible…..the latest version is available in SDA only (after you purchase it)

I am under the impression that these two instruments only work inside of Halion (Sonic). I haven’t seen them as a stand-alone VST3 plugin.
I am not sure why the files from your screenshot even exist.

On their pproduct pages Steinberg links to this video regarding instsllation and activation:

And yes, there is also a remark for Triebwerk stating it will only run in Rosetta mode.

Treibwerk is definitely a paid add-on to Halion (I have had a copy since release a good number of years ago).

Running Windows 11 here so may not be relevant in your situation, but either way it’s maybe not worth spending time to figure out what is going on if you haven’t bought the software, or aren’t planning to?

Triebwerk, HALion Symphonic Orchestra, and Dark Planet were originally VST instruments that could be used independently or with HALion. This changed with the release of Dorico 2 for HSO, if I remember correctly, and I’m not entirely sure about the other two.

I’d forgotten about them being independent instruments. Can’t remember using Treibwerk as such - but there are some classic FlexPhrase dance sounds on there. Still gets used now and again!

Oh! On YouTube I saw a video that said i could simply go to steinberg.net for free downloads. Apparently not…

You can….it’s just not everything you find….there is a FREE filter on this page

In fact, they were expansions of HALion that could be used in the same way as any other VSTi.
