When recording, there tends to be a delay between ending the segment and hitting stop record. I want to trim that delay off each track that has it.
When I open a MIDI track in event editor (I think that’s what it’s called) and use the selector tool to select some air space at the front of a track, I can remove that air space just from that track. When I do the exact same thing from the end of the track, nothing happens. No instructions that tell how to do this work.
What am I missing?
Hi,
First of all, try to disable the Preferences > Record > MIDI > Snap MIDI Parts to Bars option.
If you try to resize the MIDI Part, ensure the Snap is disabled in your case.

Almost.
When you open a MIDI Part in the Key Editor…
Okay, I did that. Not sure what this was supposed to accomplish. Resizing changes the tempo of the entire track rather than trimming off the silence at the end or beginning.
And trying the same step of selecting the silence and using Shift + Backspace in the front of the track removes that silence, but not in the tail of the track. It seems like there is absolutely no way possible to remove silence from the end of the track.
I appreciate that, Johnny. I still have not been able to figure out how to trim the silence off the end of a track. It’s kind of important to be able to do so if I want to repeat the track for various purposes …
@Johnny_Moneto & @Martin.Jirsak, it looks like Split tool can serve the function by splitting everything before and after a selection point into three separate tracks, at which point the first and last track can be deleted and the middle track moved. Be nice if there were a simpler way, but it’s also not completely hopeless.
Hi,
What about to select the wanted range by the Range Tool and then use Edit > Range > Crop?
