Where is it supposed to be - SE3?
When I load Halion, it’s no longer there, and it isn’t listed as a download in SDA.
Cubase 14 Pro only shows Halion and Halion Sonic - not SE.
Should I install Cubase again?
Hi,
since you have Cubase 14 you will also have Halion Sonic 7 which is the free version, no need for a SE version.
Just load an instance of Halion Sonic 7, click on “ALL” on the right side and you will see “Trip” like in the screenshot below.
Thanks - yes, that’s how it used to look. I have Cubase 14 Pro and Absolute 6. I must have messed something up. I’ll have to look further.
Trium is pretty similar, but there’s something about Trip that I really like.
I didn’t have Trip, either (I have full HALion 7), but tend to use “real” sounds rather than synths, so I never worried.
However, having time on my hands…
I had a vague memory that Trip came with HS SE 3, So I downloaded the installer
extracted the files using 7zip, copied the content of
\HALion_Sonic_SE_3.5.10_Installer_win\HALion Sonic SE 3.5.10\Additional Content\VST Sound\HALion Resources
to my HALion vstsounds folder, double-clicked a random file to open the library manager, and BEHOLD! Trip appeared.
Thanks for the reply. I tried your method, but it didn’t work for me.
I did have Success! though. I’ll post here for anyone who runs into this. I had to download Halion Sonic Selection Content from SDA. Then copy the vst sounds into my folder. Then Trip showed up.
BUT… all the presets had question marks next to them, and I got a ‘No License Found’ message, with a note that because the e-licenser shut down, I’d have to do something with the activation manager and restart the computer.
I only restarted, and it’s back up and running now. A lot of wasted time though.
Spoke too soon. When I start Halion now, none of the instruments show normally. I have to select them in the browser. Another edit: all sorted. I just had to select ‘move’ in Library Manager and select the renamed vst sound location.
