The Cubase 14 score editor still can only write triplet 8th notes on just high hat; not ride cymbal. When I try to do it - it all comes out as 8th rests. Cubase 13 could write all kinds of different rhythms. i’m hoping they improved the score editor.
This is possible in Cubase 14 and 15:
Method 1:
- In the key editor, set the Ride grid to 1/8T and click into the grid
Method 2:
- In the score editor, add the note to the F line and then switch to the select tool
- Because there are multiple drum notes mapped to the F line (Ride and Tom 4), use alt+up to change the note to a ride
- Click on the tuplet icon to create a triplet at that point
- Use Ctrl-D/Command-D to duplicate the notes in the triplet.
