I’ve searched here and in the manual but can’t get this to work. I’m using Dorico Pro 4. In Notation Options/Key Signatures, I’ve selected “Hide key signatures,” and the only choice I have on the right is “Flow 1.” In every individual part, this is working correctly. However, I have a custom layout I made with voice and electric guitar in one part, so there’s a double staff. The key signature is shown on every system, unfortunately (and this is also the case in the score). How do I hide the key signature after the first system for my custom layout (as well as the score, if possible)?
You could edit the tonality system, create a new accidental with an unusual glyph and pitch delta 1, create a new key signature with four instances of this accidental and apply the new key signature after the first bar:
Wow, amazing workaround. Thank you, John! If you don’t mind explaining the steps to do this, I don’t know where to start. If not, no worries, I’ll try to figure it out.
The following steps are for Dorico Pro 6, but version 4 should be similar:
Go to the Key Signatures, Tonality Systems, and Accidentals panel in the right zone.
Click on the pencil icon under Tonality System.
Click on the plus sign at the bottom of the Accidentals column.
Change the Pitch delta to 1 in the upper right corner of the dialog.
Change the Range to Round and square noteheads, double click on noteheadRoundWhite (U+E114) and click OK.
Click on the plus sign at the bottom of the Custom Key Signatures column.
For each accidental to add to the key signature, double click on the new accidental and use the up and down arrows after Note to move each accidental to the correct line or space. Then click OK twice.
Select the first note or rest after the first bar and click on the custom key signature in the right zone.
