Trouble importing video files to cubase

Hi Everyone

I’ve started working in Cubase with video files.

Really all I need to do is to get a video file to generate thumbnails so I can sync the audio to the video.

I understand that this is done in the Preferences > Event Display > Video

However this option does not seem to be here for me. Funny as it was there last week.

When I go to the Device Setup > Video Player I see this message:
Please upgrade your graphics card driver or switch to a more

I tried to update my graphics card but it says it is up to date. My graphics card is a ATI Radeon HD 4600 Series.
Surely this should be enough to generate a thumbnail or two. BTW I saw this message here before but the option for thumbnails had still appeared in the preferences.

Could be that update to quicktime last week. . .

Any ideas on what could be wrong here?

OK I figured this out.
I had updated quicktime and it no longer seems to play any video files at all.

Since Cubase uses the quicktime engine it also could not see video.

I uninstalled and installed an older version and then the videos seem to work again!!
