Trouble installing Wavelab 7 in Windows 8

Hi all

I’ve just got a new windows 8 machine and have tried to install Wavelab 7. I installed the 64bit version as well as the update for windows 8 but get this error when I try to start the program.

“The program can’t start because WMVCore.DLL is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem”

I did try reinstalling but I got the same error on the second try.

Any idea about what the problem may be here?

Thanks for any help,

You need to install Windows Media Player.

OK looks like Windows Media Player is supposed to be added on install of Windows 8.1

My install does not have it. I looked for a install file and found this page:

Seems they don’t give you any options to install it here.

Any ideas on what to do?

Will I have the same trouble when I try to install Cubase 8?

You probably can find it in W8.1 ‘Windows Update’ via control panel or otherwise. There should also be something like ‘Adding components to Windows’ or similar.

Thanks for this however it seems you can not add the player this way.

However my computer builder sent me this link:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40744

You can get it installed there.

Just got wavelab to run!!
