Trouble with expression map for 8ve up playback technique

Octave up.dorico (1.4 MB)

Hello! I’m a recent Finale refugee who is really enjoying diving into Dorico. These forums have been incredibly helpful, but I’m currently dealing with a problem that I have not been able to quite solve on my own.

I’m working on a project where the trumpet part should be played up and octave the second time through. In this previous post, Janus gave some great instructions on how to do this. Basically create a Playing Technique and corresponding Playback Technique, and then adding a base switch in the expression map with the transposition set to 12.

I did all of that, and it works great for natural notes and notes that have accent marks. However, notes with marcato markings and slurs don’t transpose up (I’m guessing it would be a similar issue for legato and staccato markings).

Another person in that post reported a similar issue and johnkprice appeared to have fixed was to go into the expression map and add add-on switches for articulations that were not working. I did the same and also double-checked it against the revised project johnkprice posted, but it is be working in my case (project attached).

I think I understand why adding those articulations interfere with the 8ve-nat base switch. The one part that I haven’t figured out is how simply adding an add-on switch for the relevant articulation would fix the problem. I would assume that those add on switches would need an action associated with them in order to transpose up an octave, but I can/should do that.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
