Trying to input a multi-note tremolo that is two dotted minims in a 3/4 bar

Hello. I’ve been trying to read how to do this using forced notes and multi-note tremolos in a violin part (Blue Danube as it happens). See attached screenshot.

When I add the first (with Force on), my caret moves to the next bar - if I add the next in that bar then try to move it to the previous bar, it starts breaking them down to crotchets - so the force can’t be working. What would be the sequence i need to add these two dotted minims in 3/4 time in the same bar (and which I can then add the tremolo to)?

Many thanks in advance for any help. If there is modern way of achieving the same thing in sound-terms, that’s even better - I’m not precious about the notation, which I believe is an old style?

For multinote tremolos you enter two notes that are both half the duration of the total tremolo (so in this case dotted crotchets). Dorico requires they are both dotted crotchets, so you need to force duration on the second one (agreed, this is an annoyance). You can then use the shift-R popover to create the multinote tremolo…

This notation is perfectly acceptable in modern scores.

@Janus thanks so much, worked perfectly, would not have got there myself. Very much appreciated
