Trying to understand CD import with different drives?

Hi

So I have just moved to Mac and learning! I’m using the CD import feature just to put some CD’s on memory stick for the car nothing taxing or serious and I have noticed some CD’s do not import correctly in Wavelab but do using Music on the Mac. For example, the Garbage album Bleed Like Me says it only has 8 tracks not 11 and track 8 is zero seconds long where as the Recoil EP which has 7 tracks says it only has 3 and is over 2 hours long but both report correctly and play in Music. That is using a new Blueray drive by ASUS reported as a BW-16D1X-U if I use my old Samsung DVD hub model SE-208BW everything works fine. So I’m confused as to what the issue is as they both work in the Music app and I would like to use the new drive as I have invested in it

I’m running Wavelab Pro 12.0.51 build 15 for Apple silicon on a Mac Studio M4 Max with 48GB and an ASUS Turbo drive BW-16D1X-U though a Anker USB-C 14 in 1 hub on Sequoia 15.6.1

Thanks

Hi!

Yes CD-import can be tricky not just with WaveLab but CD-reader and speed e.t.c

Try with “XLD” and see if that works fine

scroll down on this site to “Download”

and I’m sure someone else in this forum will help you out…
