It can’t yet be done “natively”. The workaround* is to fix the playback by using a hidden metronome marking, and write the metric modulation as System Text ( ShiftAlt/OptX ) using either the MusGlyphs or Metrico font.
* It’s been endorsed by the developers so frequently that by now it’s almost a documented feature
