Tuplets in scores

hi,

I’m trying to get these tuplets right. I think I see other people do all kinds of stuff looking right, but I can’t get there. in 6/8 I have 4 notes over 3 quavers. C13 gets it right, all kinds of experiments in C15 only makes things worse.

In the first picture:

sopraan1 : the situation if I don’t do anything, just open the score (created in C13)

sopraan2: after applying tuplet definition from the score tools. everything shifts and is off.

klarinet: after deleting the notes and re-entering them with the mouse to the correct positions. needs a calculator. tedious, to no avail.

in the second picture the desired result, no problem in C13.

find included also a small sample project (yes it’s a Charlie Haden song)

I find myself using the C13 score editor more and more. As long as I don’t upgrade my system to Tahoe, I’m okay. But at some stage I will need to move up. And then I’m stuck with this kind of thing, and a lot more.

addendum: I tried re-inputting the notes with my midi keyboard. the result is somewhat better, but still not right.

can you copy the correct ascending notes into the second half of the bar and change the notes to the decending line?

well, what I did first was doing the copying in the key-editor, that didn’t work.

now I tried the copying in the score editor, and all is fine!

thanks for the hint… though this step shouldn’t be necessary really!

actually another reason why it’s much better in general to input notes with a keyboard, not with the mouse. That leads to what they call ‘hard-stamped’ notes to won’t allow easy editing…

it´s really hard to find a trustworthy method for such things, when the use of specific editors or the way the notes are created, by mouse or keyboard, lead to - at least for me - unpredeictable results.
