Is there a way to turn all these quarter notes into 8th notes without rests in between, without a lot of manual editing? If I just change them to 8th notes, Dorico puts rests in between each, but in this case I just want them pushed together, which would shorten it to two bars.
Turn the insert mode before changing to 8ths.
Press “I” to enter insert mode first. Then hit the 5 key.
Don’t forget to end insert mode after it by pressing “I” again
Select the notes, turn on insert mode (I) and shorten the notes, via Shift + Alt + ← , or the options above (and put a C ♭ instead C in the scale to obtain a phrygian scale

Thanks, you would be right, but the tonic is actually F. It’s confusing, because this is just some notation that I started to write for my trumpet practice, so I added two bars descending and ascending for a quick printout for practice. When finished, it’ll start on F3 and end on F6, and each staff will have the Phrygian in a different key.
Understood! It’s not confusing! As primally guitar player, I also have varied ways to study/practice some stuffs, and this kind of study is/was one of then!
