Two Charts

Hi is there any way I can have two open charts/projects side by side?
In Finale I could have 2 charts side by side so I could use one as a work sheet ( jot ideas down) then copy them into the other chart as a final draft?

Welcome. Yes, absolutely. I do this all the time.

If you have a small-ish monitor, you can remove some of the options from the bottom toolbar, which allows the window to be smaller.

This is what I would like to achieve.
I have a 27 monitor so real estate is not a problem/ MacBook Air and IPad so I can move charts to different screens

Of course. Simply open both of them and position however you wish (I use Rectangle on Mac).

Got it just not used to having all the real estate around the chart

You can hide all the panels using Cmd-0.

Cmd o just opens …open file?

Zero, not the letter O.

Thanks its late

When working with multiple projects open at the same time, I recommend you only have one of them activated for playback. If you have both activated for playback, switching between projects will take several seconds, and if you’re copying and pasting between them, this will quickly annoy you.

Thanks for the tip (in Prefs I’ve turned on “ask” for new project and never for subsequent projects is this correct?) I very rarely use playback, occasionally if I’m writing a 3 horn section with harmonies I’ll use the studio view to check these (and the annoying tied notes where I forgot raise or lower the pitch when they crossed a bar line)

That’s definitely a good approach. I would suggest Always for the first project and either Ask or Never for subsequent ones, but what you’re doing will work fine!
