This is strange, but I’ve seen other posts where I think this has happened to other users. I have a project where, sometimes, if I double-click a dynamic to alter it, Dorico produces a new, second dynamic for the note instead of altering the existing dynamic.
I tried to make a little sample project to demo this, and of course I couldn’t reproduce the issue at all! So I made a second flow in that project and copied four bars from the larger project I’m working on into it. Now I have a demo project (which I’ll attach) that shows both behaviors.
Here’s a flip-book of what happens:
This may seem like just some weird quirk, but it has cost me at least half a day’s work, so far. This is because I happened to link a LOT of dynamics between instrumental staves and a piano reduction throughout 30+ flows of an entire opera. Now, this is one of the strange side effects of my work I see in random places throughout the score.
Is this a bug? Or is there some logic behind it I don’t know yet?
