Two voices in drum part

Hello everyone,

Is there a way to prevent multiple rests from appearing by default in my drum part when I use multiple stem directions? Alternatively, is there an easier way to remove them than having to reduce the scale of each individual rest? It’s especially annoying in empty bars.

Thank you!

Nate

Did you check the settings under Library->Notation Options->Percussion?
Otherwise, could you share the file, or part of it, that shows the issue?
Also, I guess that you defined the stem direction in the Kit editor and didn’t use right-click->Percussion->Change Voice?

Jesper

Thank you @jesele

The biggest issue I have is with empty bars. I start with the kick drum (down-stem), then I have a couple of empty bars, everything is fine so far. Then, after a few bars, I add some ride hits (up-stem), and suddenly all the previous empty bars show two rests…

Again, could you share just the drum part? Easier to see what the best action is to take. You could otherwise use Edit->Remove rests.

Jesper

I don’t get that.

Here you go. Thank you.

I try to avoid using Remove Rests because it’s very tedious. Sometimes I have to select more than 100 rests manually. If it is just one… it’s fine.

It has to do something with start/ending voice…

I think this notation option did it?

Oh my gosh… yes.

I am so dumb.

Thank you so much, @jesele!
