Type-C or Type-A?

Dear friends, my new motherboard has some Type-C and new system box makes me extend cable size. So I have to choose: Type-C or Type-A? I understand that connection speed with Type-A is more then enough, but I have some doubts.

The connector type doesn’t make a difference, unless your motherboard has a USB4 chip integrated. It is not the connector that decides about speed, it is the hardware in your computer.

Type-A connectors can support up to “USB 3.2 Gen2”, which is theoratically 10Gbps.

For the audio connection to a UR device even the speed of a USB 2.0 interface is enough, so your connector type is not relevant. Just make sure you have a good cable.

+1 on this answer: makes no difference.

All Type-A connectors on recent computers are minimum Gen3 and able to run at 5Gbps, which is already 10x faster than any audio interface needs.
Even if you had an older mobo with USB 2 only … makes no difference.
For example, the manual of the UR816C is pretty clear about this:

JuergenP and Y-D, thank you both! You confirmed my thoughts, I will relax - take Type-A.
