Ive been looking to upgrade from Wavelab pro11.2 to 12. is there an upgrade discount or do I need to make a full purchase?
My Mac wants to install Tahoe today and I was also wondering if 11.2 will still work should I install Tahoe.
I know this seemed like a stupid question, but in wavelabs under “find updates” there is no option to update to 12. Then when I log into the site there are no updates available and I had to download 12 @ 480 some odd megabyte program which I have not implemented yet. So my next question is, while installing 12 is it going to give me the option of upgrade/purchase.
There might be a small introductory discount when WaveLab 13 is released… or there might not. Hard to say.
If you haven’t purchased the update yet, you could actually buy the upgrade now, before WL13 comes out. Once WaveLab 13 is released, the upgrade price will go up, as it will then count as an upgrade from 11 to 13. Whether any potential introductory discount would balance that out is anyone’s guess.
Just make sure you hold off on redeeming the code until WaveLab 13 is officially available. Don’t use it until WL13 appears in the Steinberg Download Manager. Enter it once WaveLab 13 is live. That way you’ll receive WL13 even if your purchase technically only upgrades you to WL12.
(And apologies to Steinberg for the slightly cheeky advice — if you’ve got money to spare, by all means support them and help the company flourish.)
And if you’re not in a hurry… Steinberg will almost certainly run another WaveLab promotion at some point. They usually do. (Sorry Steinberg again …)
For what it’s worth, I even have a current WaveLab licence I could pass on — but it’s a full licence, so it would definitely cost more than upgrading from WL11 to WL12.
Just click to buy Wavelab 12 pro, in that page there’s option to upgrade from whatever release, buy for 99.99 as coming from 11 and wait to fill the code given into the Download Assistant as AC^AB_01 suggested.
