In a full orchestra score, I cannot select my bottom most instrument in the drop-down menu. A google search reveals, “You cannot select the bottom-most instrument in Dorico because a display scaling or UI bug in the drop-down menu restricts its height or hides the final list item.” I’m just trying to edit my double bass part. I realize that this is not a problem with Dorico. Is there anything I can do?
If this is a problem on your system, you could try selecting the next to last layout and then use the Next Layout command to get to the last one.
The default key command for Next Layout is Shift+Alt/Opt+] – or you could invoke it from the jump bar.
Or select the first layout and use Previous Layout, Shift+Alt/Opt+[
Or open a new tab (Ctrl/Cmd+T) and select the layout you want from the list there.
Edit: You should also be able to use your mouse’s scroll wheel or the arrow keys to highlight the layout you want, and then click on it with the mouse. This works for me if the list of layouts is taller than my screen.
The next layout shortcut worked. Thank you so much!
Using the scroll wheel didn’t work because it snapped back before I can click on it.
I just opened the same file on a different computer, and the drop-down menu worked just fine.
You should also be able to select something on the Double Bass staff and press W.
@Dissonancely, is your display (on the affected computer) set to some resolution other than what is recommended for your system? (Did you change it while Dorico was running, and have you tried rebooting, restarting Dorico?)
