UI - Quick Controls - Is that Quick Control 4, 5, or 6? There's no numbers

Long sessions, blurry vision, scattered brain… Deciphering which is 4, 5, 6 can be a challenge.

Having some numbers per quick control wouldn’t hurt.

edit

Just to be clear, was talking about this:

I’m seen numbers here, or do you mean something else?

On the channel leftzone

Note that this not default for all VSTs. In Halion we see this because it’s part of the parameter name.
For example in Retrologue, you may see something like this:

Out of curiosity, how are you controlling the parameters? Is it a case of externally controlling them and you like to see the numbers?

im just talking about on screen UI and perhaps combine with non-LCD controllers

Haven’t used that for ever, since Steinberg introduced in focus QC and gave us the QC panel at the top of every VST.

Plugin needs to open for you to see that.

I always have the plug-in GUI open if I’m working on it. I have a open / close GUI short cut, so it’s a quick work flow.
Just what works for me and again I find the in focus QC a great way to work.
The beauty of Cubase..many different ways to skin that cat.

I revised my original post to be more clear.

The way I have my quick controls setup they are always visible in the left zone - It’s not only about controlling, but also having a peak into certain things how they are a set - high pass filter in a plugin for example.

This thread was just meant to be a simple UI feedback comment, nothing too deep.

Also, the channel quick controls are different than plugin quick controls aren’t they?

Yep your edit makes it much clearer.
Sorry, I was only trying to help with my personal workflow tips.

no you’re good, my fault for making a lazy sleep deprived op.

Just for clarity, OP is talking about Track Quick Controls. Those are not equivalent nor interchangeable with Focus Quick Controls.
For example, FQC lets you setup VST parameters from several insert effects and/or channel parameters such as send levels, volume, etc.

it was my fault for not specifying until later in the thread

Just for clarity too  When no plugin has the focus, Cubase sees Track as focused, thus the track quick controls are then identical to the focused quick controls. That being said, one can always setup the focused quick controls to ignore track/plugins.

Yeah that was obvious after the OP was edited. Clearly I answered before the edit.

Hovering over a TQC reveals the currently set value.

They can also be changed to this view:

There is no serial number, though.

yeah it’s the serial identification I’m looking for to just be able to glance over and know what’s what without having to count rows.

Also don’t forget, Track Quick Controls have an alternate hidden menu if you hold shift while opening a quick control menu - it loads every single applicable destination in the project.
