Un-hideable tracks

Is it possible to make a track impossible to hide ?

I don’t believe it is. What’s your use case?

For instance I often use “Show track with data between the locator” which I find very handy, but it hides my channel settings tracks which I sometimes want to keep visible.

I guess a PLE could fix that but generally sometimes when juggling with some visibility agents or visibility-realted PLE you end up hiding track that you would like to keep visible.

am I the only one ? :sweat_smile:

What happens if you Lock the Track?

Yeah still hides the locked.

I can’t find an option to make them un-hideable.
tag it as a feature request

I have another problem with viewing agents.
I have a group folder where I have disabled and hidden one of its channels.
also disabled the group editing on the folder track.
at some point, if I need to enable it again then it un-hides the hidden channel.

Good question I never understood what Locking track do actually. All that i know is it doesn’t make them un-hideable.

Lock= Disables all editing of any events on the track.

Yes that’s what the manual says but I don’t understand, what do they mean by “editing” ?

Well the usual, cut, mute, move of the event and so on, it also ‘locks’ it’s parameters in inspector, automation lanes etc.

I found something interesting for my case, when using the divide tracklist, “show track with data between the locator” doesn’t hide the tracks on the other side of the divided list. :slight_smile:
