Hi,
I am unable to add fermatas above these vocal parts (and now the violin 1 part too). Whenever I try to add a fermata to the dotted half note, it will add fermatas to every other part.
Any thoughts?
Thank you!

That’s by design. Adding a fermata will always put it across the score. If you want a fermata on only a few selected staves, you can create it as a playing technique. (I have never had a reason to do it, but it has been discussed many times on the forum so you can find detailed instructions if you search for it.)
Edit: I did the search for you: Graphic fermata
Oh, sorry. I read too quickly. The reason is that a breath mark and a fermata can’t occupy the same space.
The problem is the breath mark. A fermata and a breath mark cannot be on the same rhythmic position.
To show the fermata and add a breath mark first delete the breath mark – that brings the fermata back, select the dotted half note, press SHIFTN, move the caret one step to the right and insert the breath mark.
