Unable to drag track to desired position

In cubase 9.5 i was able to drag and place a track anywhere i wanted to.

With cubase 13 its all choppy and i can not simply use my mouse and drag a track to a specific time.

This is extremely annoying and there is no obvious way to enable such a simple feature.

Pleaae help. If i change from time code to samples or whatever i still cand get tracks to go where i want them to.

Hi,
it sounds as if you have engaged the grid-button that locks your events to the nearest point of your selected grid. You find that button on the top of your project window or simply use the shortcut “J” to activate/deactivate the grid. If you come from Cubase 9.5 there´s a bunch of really cool new stuff in Cubase 13 around the corner!

@trudeausamuel You probably mean an Part, not a Track. Tracks can only be moved vertically in Cubase. Parts can be moved horizontally within a track or vertically across tracks.

Each move takes place in the currently set time grid if the Snap function is activated. If it is deactivated, the move is stepless.
Snap Button

Alternatively, the Ctrl/Cmd key can be pressed while moving.

You probably mean a Part, not an Event.
Cubase lingo is weird.

You’re bloody right, since the image shows MIDI and not Audio it should be Part and not Event, I actually had overlooked that.
