Hi all I am a new member. I have recently installed Cubase LE 5. Running through a Tascam US144Mk11 on windows 7 in XP compatibility mode. I have a problem. I can record audio & midi but when I try to record midi all I get is piano sound and I am unable to locate/load Halion or any VSTI instruments. Looking at tutorials it seems I should have an instrument pane in the devices menu but it doesn’t appear for me. Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated thanx.

You should look at the manual, or if you look at tutorials, you should make sure, you´re using the same software as the one in the tutorial.
“instrument track(s)” is what you should read up in the manual.
