why is my soundcard changing my sample frequency when i play a file?
(i select a 16b, 44KHZ file and my soundcard is set to 48Khz; after a short hiccup/break, the file plays but my soundcard internal clock has changed to 44KHZ)
when i set the sync of my SC external, files other than native/clocked frequency don’t play at all
(when my SC is synced to a 48KHZ external clock, files other than 48KHZ don’t play)
SC: RME MADI FX pro
ext clock : Ferrofish Pulse MX16
W10
prefered sample freq is set in preferences to 48:000
This is expected behaviour … otherwise sample rate conversion must occur and you will not be hearing the original source material unaltered. If you’re OK with this and wish to use external clocking, for convenience you can turn on resampling in the master section for playback:
makes sense
on the other hand, why does WaveLab 6 doesn’t change the clock frequency of the soundcard and WaveLab 11 does change it?
(maybe it re-sampled by default)
thank you

Working with Windows or Mac OS ?
Maybe with WL 6 compare to later WL versions
a audio driver thing with sample rate?
