I don’t know if it is just my instance of Dorico 6, but if I select an entry in the list of paths under “VST2 Plug-in Paths” (Edit → Preferences → VST Plug-ins) and try to delete it by clicking the trash can Icon, the icon isn’t enabled so the delete can’t take place.
In this specific case, I want to remove an incorrect entry. However, the same thing applies if I select an existing file path.
Maybe attempt this without opening a project file? Preferences can be accessed while the Hub and nothing else is opened. Just a thought…maybe not a logical one…
Well, I’m on a Mac and I don’t have that in Preferences even though I do have at least one VST2 library that I use. My version is 6.2.30. So, I’m assuming that macOS has predefined locations for VST2s resulting in no real use for that option.
What system and version of Dorico Pro 6 are you using?
Tks Kasky1, I’m running Windows 11 Version 25H2 and Dorico Pro 6. I guess this is where the system architectures do differ.

actually, that what you see and how Dorico behaves is correct and wanted.
The four paths that you see are default paths that Dorico will always look at while looking for VST2 plug-ins. You can add (and delete) other paths as well, but those 4 entries that you see are always there and you can’t change them.
If you add a custom path then the trash icon will become active and you can delete the custom path again.
If there are VST2 plug-ins in those 4 standard paths that you don’t want to use in Dorico, you can simply put those on the blocklist that is shown in the next section in the Preferences dialog.
On Macs with Apple Silicon we already discontinued VST2 support and other platforms will follow soon, so in the near future Dorico will only support VST3 plug-ins
