I am having major display issues with WaveLab Pro 11. This was an issue with WaveLab Pro 10 but, now it is even worse! For example, the Windows taskbar was visible in WaveLab Pro 10 and now it’s not with WaveLab Pro 11. I need to report this, so that the developers can have it fixed with the next WaveLab Pro 11 update. I’m using the default and recommended (150) dpi settings for Windows 11. This is the same default setting it’s been for the past (3) Windows operating systems. I would never use a lower dpi setting otherwise the text would be way too small. WaveLab Pro 11 should be able to accommodate this setting by now and I don’t understand why it’s still an issue. I don’t know anyone who uses a dpi lower than 150 when using a modern resolution display.
Your monitor is unusual because 1920 x 1080 with 150% scaling means only 1280 x 720 usable pixels, which is uncommon today and not enough for WaveLab.
Sorry, but WaveLab can’t be updated to support this.
Consider using 100% scaling or a larger monitor.
I’m sure Microsoft knows exactly what you need.
And by the way, that’s not the dpi setting. It’s called scaling factor.
It scales the content according to the resolution.
DPI settings take the display into account, it changes with different display sizes.
As I mentioned, I personally will never use anything less than 150% scalling. I do plan on getting a new (4k) monitor with a native resolution of 3840x2160. Will WaveLab 11 display properly then? Otherwise, I would need to get a refund.
All of my other 3rd party applications display properly with the default 150% setting. WaveLab is the only one that has issues.
I did try to lowering the Windows setting to 100% and 125% with my current 1920x1080 display. WaveLab displayed fine with this setting but, all the text was way too small. Also, I would not be willing to change the Windows scalling setting every time I switch from WaveLab to Windows.
Will the text be too small when using a 4k display with the 150% setting? For example, I may have to use 175% with a 4k display. I assume the text will be smaller with a 4k display when compared to a 2k display, even when both are set to 150%. If you have a 4k display, can you provide a screenshot with this config?
Depends on the size of your monitor and your eyesight. I use a 32” 4k monitor at 100% and it’s good for me with my screen glasses. I’ve never used anything other than 100% on hd screens. It would need to be a very small screen for that.
A 4k screen at 150% should be fine since at 100% it is 4x the resolution of hd
I currently use a 46" 1920x1080 display with 150% and sit about 4.5ft away. With this config everything is perfect for me, and I have very good vision. Like I said, all my applications display fine with these settings except for WaveLab.
I will be upgrading to a 75" 3840x2160 display. Although, I’m not sure if I will be using 150% and how far I will be siting from the display. I may have to use 175% for the same effect but I won’t know until I see it for myself.
Any screenshots of WaveLab 11 on a 3840x2160 display with 150%?
Actually, I don’t think the screen size makes any difference because the persons sitting distance changes. For example, a person would sit about 4ft away from a 46" display and about 7ft away from a 75" display. Therefore, things should appear close to the same size if both displays had the same configuration, (3840x2160@150%) for example.
I could never use Wavelab with a 1920x1080@100% configuration so, that means I also can’t use Wavelab with a 3840x2160@200% configuration because they are the same. I don’t think Windows offers a higher option than 200% plus, your telling me that anything under 1920x1080 usable pixels is not recommended with Wavelab. It seems as though I’m looking to use Wavelab with 1280x720 usable pixels regardless of which display/configurations I’m using.
Why doesn’t Wavelab support usable pixels lower than 1920x1080? Like I mentioned, all of my other applications display fine with 1920x1080@150%, Wavelab is the only one that has issues. I strongly feel that the developers can fix this, how do I make this request?
The screen size will make a difference. We talk about business displays, not multimedia screens.
75" screens make no sense for audio or office work, you need to move the head way too often to see all details.
But they would be ok for live video multi viewers.
Of course, it does make a major difference! I am afraid you don’t understand this screen resolution matter at all. Maybe you should visit a computer shop so that they explain it on a real screen.
And, no professional would use WaveLab with a 1280x720 display, simply because there are not enough pixels to represent all the information, be it a small or a huge screen.
If you need a giant screen, get one, but then have something like 3840x2160 resolution.
