Unable to upgrade to Groove Agent 6 since I already own the Absolute 6

I purchased the Absolute 6 bundle, and honestly, Groove Agent 6 is the only upgrade in Absolute 7 that holds any real value for me. However, when I bought the upgrade key for Groove Agent 6, I received a refund notice along with this email content:

'As your licence for Groove Agent 5 is included in the Absolute 6 Collection, this standalone update for Groove Agent cannot be performed. If you wish to update Groove Agent 5, you must purchase the update to Absolute 7.’

I find myself wondering: since I bought Absolute 6, I obviously own Groove Agent 5, yet Steinberg forces me to purchase the entire Absolute 7 upgrade just to get it. Is this some kind of a joke? Does this mean from now on, whenever I want a specific instrument upgrade, I am forced to upgrade the whole Absolute bundle at a much higher price, even though most of the content is completely useless to me?

Does any other VSTi bundle out there actually have such a baffling and frustrating policy?

Yes, this is the way it works. If you buy the Absolute bundle you own a license for that complete bundle and not separate licenses for every included product.

No, that is the license as it is defined. You bought a bundle, you can update the bundle, that’s it.

As far as I know this is the case for other bundles, from other vendors as well.
