Unable to Use Multiple Audio Devices or Detect Wireless Mic

Hello everyone,

I’m currently facing two issues with Cubase regarding audio device configuration, and I would appreciate some guidance or clarification.

1. Cubase allows only one audio device at a time

On my system (macOS), I normally use a MOTU MicroBook IIc as my main audio interface. However, I also want to use a second device as an input — specifically my wireless microphone (Hollyland).

In Logic Pro, this works perfectly:

  • I can set my audio output to the MOTU MicroBook IIc

  • At the same time, I can set the input to my wireless mic

  • Both devices are active simultaneously as separate sources

Cubase, on the other hand, forces me to select only one audio device at a time. I can’t use my external interface while also choosing my wireless mic as a separate input source.

2. Cubase does not detect my wireless microphone at all

Even if I try switching to the Mac’s built-in device, Cubase simply does not show or recognize my wireless microphone as an available audio input.
The microphone works fine across the system and is detected instantly in Logic Pro.

Thanks you for your time.

Hi - see this post:

Since you mention Logic Pro, I’ll presume you’re on Mac. You’ll just need to create an aggregate device for general “multi-interface support.” Now the “wireless mic” will depend on which mic and what kind of “wireless” connection it is (UHF vis USB, Bluetooth, etc) as its connection method will determine your options there.

Thanks a lot for the explanation!
I followed your suggestion, created an Aggregate Device on macOS, and now Cubase can finally use both my MOTU interface and the wireless mic at the same time. Everything works perfectly. Really appreciate your help!
