I have never had this before, but after importing a piano MIDI file (exported from Logic Pro 10.5) on PC [Cubase 13] the sustain is uneditable (it is drawn in light blue with no edit handles). Not only does it not allow editing in the controller lane, no sustain events appear in the MIDI List Editor either. The controller lane thinks they are CC64 so does anyone have any clues as to what’s gone wrong?
Hi,
To me it looks like the MIDI CCs are not imported as MIDI CCs, but as Automation instead.
Could you attach a screenshot? Could you double-check your MIDI > MIDI Controller Automation Setup (attach a screenshot), please?
Hi Martin,
Here is a screenshot of the MIDI Editor window:
And here is the CC64 part of the MIDI Controller Automation Setup:
Hi,
This definitely looks like the MIDI CC automation.
In Cubase, there is a way to make an automation out of the MIDI CC curves: MIDI > Functions > Extract MIDI Automation. But there is no way back from the automation to MIDI.
The only way I can imagine is to use any virtual MIDI Port, send the MIDI data out to the virtual MIDI Port and record it back to Cubase.
