first of all many thanks for your valuable work and great tool you created :-).
I am a live-keyboarder and currently working in a long setlist. In case that I am selecting a song I would expect that this song is selected (nothing more). But it seems that VST live is scrolling after I selected a song. As a result sometimes I am loosing my orientation because I would expect that only the selected song would be marked but the screen should be in general identical.
In a live mode this could be really confusing.
I would prefer to spend my attention to the music I am playing and not to search for a new orientation of a scrolled setlist view which was not my target / aim.
If no scrolling takes place, you will not see the newly selected Song in the list. VST Live always makes sure that the selected Song is visible after it has been selected.
So far, that has been accepted as default behaviour; you can still scroll anywhere manually (as in pic 1), and when selecting a Song externally (shortcut, action), it makes sense to be able to see that selection, or?
But maybe we misunderstood or didn’t see your intention.
Thank you Musicullum for your fast feedback sorry for my explanation which was not on the point.
Step 1:
I just want to select the song “Nena”. My target is that this song should be loaded by VST live. I do not want to scroll in the setlist. Screen before I click on “Nena”:
Step 2a target: My assumption would be that after my click in the setlist VST live would only load the song and select the current song in the same setlist view (without scrolling, which is not required from my side and would be confusing me).
My wish / vision (ceteris paribus: same setlist view only nena is selected):
Step 2b reality: But unfortunately VST live is not only selecting / loading the song Nena. It is also scrolling in the setlist view which is not required / expected from my side and also confusing me.
Better would be the same setlist view as you can see with step 2a.
If you compare the screenshots you can see that the first song on top at the setlist was “Sofia-Mix Song 4” (at step 1 and 2a) which would be good and expected from my side. Unfortunately VST live is scrolling after I selected the song and then the first song in the setlist is “"Backstreet-Albern-Mix Sing Hallelujah” (which is not expected / requested from my side).
I hope that this explanation is more helpful for you to understand the background of my request.
I see your point. But during performance of a gig you go through the setlist from up to down. In that case, it is better, to have the last selected song near the top, so you can see the upcoming songs. The scrolling should stop, when the last song of the setlist is visible at the bottom.
