Unexpected shutdown with Custom MIDI harmonizer

Hi there. I’m trying to use a VST2 plugin called “Custom MIDI Auto-Harmonizer” by jstuff within VST Live 3.0.62. The plugin works fine until I open it to edit its settings, at which point VST Live crashes immediately without generating an error log. However, it works perfectly in Cubase 15 Pro. It’s a unique plugin—I haven’t found anything else like it (it generates harmonies for the right hand based on chords played in real-time with the left hand). I’d be grateful if anyone could suggest a replacement, as I’d really like to use it in a live setting but can’t get it to work. What should I do? Is this something I’m doing wrong, or is it a bug in VST Live 3? I’m happy to share the VST with the developers for testing if needed. Thanks everyone.

It’s a VST2 plugin, and Cubase does not support VST2, so how do you get to that conclusion?

Yes, the plugin crashes imnmediately when you attempt to open its Editor, not much we can do about it, sorry.

Thanks… I hope there will be an update to VSTL Live in the future that supports harmonizations and scales without needing external plugins; if you could resolve this issue, it would be greatly appreciated.

Just found out that that’s not true, sorry for this misinformation.

So we are looking at this case once more.

But true what true, VST2 is disabled by default from C15…

We added a simple scale feature for all MIDI Transformers. However for more elaborated tasks like harmonizations, there are other solutions available already, but we put it on the wishlist.
