When working with horizontal lines (such as in this particular attached example with bracketed lines for timing), is there a way to have them universally be the same vertical space away from staves?
Engraving Options–Lines–Vertical Position. You could set “Default distance from staff” to a high enough value that it always exceeded the “minimum distance” beyond protruding staff elements - perhaps something like 3 spaces might do it. And you could reduce minimum distance to perhaps 1/8.
That’s no guarantee, though. You may still have to manually align them occasionally in Engrave mode. Easily done.
