Unintentional Event Cuts via combo of Track Select Follows Event Select, Folder Group, Lanes

Hi,

I’m just honing in on a problem within the editing paradigm.

The conditions required for this to happen:

  • Track Selection Follows Event Selection: Activated
  • Folder Group Editing mode enabled on 2 or more tracks
  • Select an event (selects matched events across 2+ tracks)
  • Slice selected event.

The result is it will slice all events including not selected.

I believe this is because of the comp-preview track at the top, with Track Selection Follows Event Selection, and or just selecting an event prior to slicing it also becomes selected - as you can see it does the same thing

Hi,

Yes, if you split in the parent track, then all the lanes are split. If you split a dedicated lane, just the given lane is split. This is, how Cubase works.

HI that’s not what the first video shows, the first video shows me selecting one event on a lane and cutting that specific event on its own lane, yet it cuts the other event on the other lane.

Sorry, in the 1st video, I don’t see the context. Are these Lanes or tracks? Are they in a Folder (Grouped)?
