Hi! I understand you can only unlock Cubase on an iPad using an iD4, but I only have an iD14 and would like to use Cubase too! Is there a way of doing this, please?!
Hi and welcome to the forum,
Cubase is for Windows an macOS, not for iPad. For iPad, there is Cubasis.
I expect, you are talking about Audient iD4. If this is the case, Cubase LE is part of iD4 too. See the description on the official Audient web page, please. You should get the code in the box. If this is not the case, ask the seller, please.
Hi Martin,
Thank you for your reply. Yes, I have tried Cubasis too. I have acquired what I need, but doesn’t work with my device.
I do not mean iD4, I mean iD14!
Thanks,
Tom
Hi,
Audient ID14 includes Cubase LE license too.
Hi Martin,
Yes, I know. I have got the licence, but it wont work on my iPad!
To try and avoid further confusion…
I have the licence, I have Cubasis, I have an iD14, I have an iPad.
I cannot unlock Cubasis with my iD14 on my iPad - but have no other device!
Hi,
Your title says Cubase, the post is in the Cubase thread and the original post also mentioned Cubase.
As I mentioned already:
So… Are you talking about Cubase or Cubasis, please?
Good grief, this is hard work.
I originally thought Cubasis was Cubase, but thank you for clearing that one up in your original reply.
Now I have a licence and Cubasis downloaded on my iPad, is there a way of activating my licence for using Cubase on my iPad, via my iD14? (I do not have an iD4)
No, that is not possible. Cubase runs on Windows and on MacOS, but not on iOS.
Hi,
As I mentioned in my very 1st post already:
OK, I mistyped which doesn’t help!!!
I meant to type is there a way of activating my licence for using Cubasis on my iPad, via my iD14?
Hi,
I have moved your thread to the Cubasis section, and changed the title.
Thanks Martin. And thank you for being patient with me. First question on the forum and it’s all gone spectacularly badly
Hi Tom,
If you check with Audient, they will tell you that ONLY the ID4 is iOS compatible to work with an iPad or iPhone.
They will also tell you that the ID14, ID24, ID44, etc., are made to work ONLY with a PC or a Mac. The 14, 24, 44, etc., require special drivers and/or software to access and control the extra features and functions built-in to them.
Likewise, Cubase requires a PC or Mac.
That’s why they only provide a code for Cubase.
An iPad requires an interface which is USB Class compliant, such as the ID4.
I hope that helps clear up the confusion.
John
Hi @Tom_Peacock
Cubasis LE comes bundled with a wide range of audio interfaces, which can be used to unlock the app from demo mode.
Pleas find the list of bundled audio devices on the Cubasis LE website:
In regards to Audient, they’ve deciced to bundle their iD4 and EVO 4 devices with Cubasis LE.
Hope that helps!
Best,
Lars
Hi all, very helpful to clear that up, thank you.
It does, however, sound like I can’t actually use Cubase or Cubasis with my iD14 (on the iPad) which is really no help whatsoever!
Thanks again,
Tom
Hi @Tom_Peacock
You may let Audient know that you want to see the iD14 bundled with Cubasis LE, to make them aware about the demand.
Best,
Lars
Thanks Lars, Good idea! I’m just trying to figure out a way I can activate Cubasis on my iPad with another device, hoping I can then use it with the iD14 after activation…
Hi @Tom_Peacock
Thanks for your reply.
A bundled device is required to unlock Cubasis LE for iOS from demo mode.
Once done, you can basically use the app with every class compliant audio device. Plus, you can also choose to update the app with all features of the full Cubasis version for a reduced price via in-app purchase.
Best,
Lars
Yeah dude
It’s quite simple
You have a compatible device for the unlock : you just plug it into the CCK or USB and open Cubasis LE
Then you can use Cubasis LE; or upgrade to Cubasis 3.6.6 which I recommend
Yeah, have done all this but unfortunately doesn’t work with an iD14 and iPad. Might have to save up for a new interface!
