Unmixing stems for dj remixes

Hey guys I’m thinking of getting a copy of SL. I’m really only interested in unmixing stems. You can unmix vocals piano bass drums and pads. What about leads? Stabs? Can SL do that or not? I want to extract melodies for remixes.

I have v7 base version, and it works okay for some vocals, not so good for others. Is v9 more precise than 7 or is it same algorithm?

I unmixed all of these using spectralayers pro 9. I also did a lot more (unmixing multiple vocals mixed in one mono channel, unmixing unison/quartet background vocals, etc) but due to copyright restrictions I’m unable to upload them.
