Unwanted echo by recording MIDI from some MODX6 sounds, not all

Some MODX6 sounds, like Tango Accordion 2 are giving me an unwanted echo back while Rec MIDI to DAW. Yes, Local Control is Off with the Quick setup, checked.

I tried different I/O configurations, for example:

But this happens only with some sounds, if I try for example Bass Morpher with the same configuration, I don’t get that echo.

I’m using Cubase 13 Pro with the latest Yamaha USB driver’s version.

Any suggestion?

Thanks!

Hi and welcome to the forum,

Switch the Local Control on the hardware to Off, please.

Hi, like I mentioned, I did it.

Hi,

Do you monitor the instrument thru Cubase?

No, not monitoring.

Trying different things, I found the solution by disabling System FX, I don’t know how that works, apparently that was the issue, maybe someone can explain.

I hope this can be helpful.

Hi,

What kind of FX (Effect) did you use there?

System FX is on by default in my MODX6, I’m not using it consciously (not sure how to use it).
It would be great to have some insight on why this is affecting Rec MIDI To DAW.
Here is some explanation on what is System FX used for:
System FX

Hi,

From the description, it’s clear what the System FX is.

And it’s also clear, that the"problem" was on the hardware side (unwanted setting). It has nothing to do with Cubase. Therefore I would recommend to close this thread.

To learn the instrument more, continue on the Yamaha forum or with its manual, please.

ok, still not clear why this affects just recording to Cubase.
