Unwanted note-input mode

Has anyone else had the experience of Dorico going into note-input mode when you single click on an element? After that it is easy to change an existing note without being aware of it if you are working quickly.

You can try clicking on the Arrow icon in the left panel (in Write mode): this is the Select button and deactivates mouse input, and consequently those appearing carets:

This often happens when the computer is recording a double-click when you instead perceived you clicked only once (or twice in a slightly too rapid succession).
