Hi, it has been a while since I last worked with DAWs and cubase, and I am facing probably a beginners mistake. But I can’t see how to fix.
I have a Cubase AI 10 and connected a UR22MKII into my computer.
When I try to record my guitar form the audio interface, it will record in the same audio track the metronome and any other midi track/instrument that I have in my project.
if I create a drum line then a bass line, piano line and at the end I will add a audio track, if I record anything on this track it will mix all the midi together.
How can I stop these please?
Hi Mark, thank you for the welcome. and to reply to my question.
I have disabled the loopback at the beginning because I was having a lot of feedback from the guitar effects.
It is enfuriating me, because before when I use back in the days the Cakewalk or any other DAW, it was simple and the midi thakcs were not directed to the audio input, therefore would not be recorder, but here I can’t.
if I open the mixer, you will see the audio levels for input 1 or 2 responding to the midi that is playing.
I have no mic connected to be a leak or something similar, even if I don’t plug nothing in the ur22mkii the midi still somehow interconnected with the inputs.
Your Audio Interface apparently (I don’t know the device) has a feature called Loopback which you should turn off using the UR22’s interface.
Loopback is used when you want to record a sound that your computer is generating - like the audio from a podcast. For normal day-to-day use it should be turned off. When you do use it take extra care with your audio routing to avoid creating feedback loops. I have a Template just for using Loopback that makes it super hard to route it wrong.
Raino, When I get ack home I will try again, maybe even removing the driver and re-installing again. then definitely, I will hammer down this loopback and try again. I will post the result.
