Upbeat - hide rest

Dear Community,

how to hide the rest in the upbeat at the beginning of the second stave? The overall hide rests in the layout options does not work here. Is there a generic chance to hide any element in the score with a quick click?

Remove rests does not work, 1% is not bad. Seems to be a workaround

You can’t have a stave that doesn’t contain any notes or rests at all. I don’t know that that’s often an unreasonable limitation

Same problem here. I need it to create exercises for students to write into so I need completely empty staves. It would be great to have a “hide item” funciotn like finale used to.

Welcome Dolly.

It’s very simple. Write your model answer in full and then use the property custom scale=1% to the hide notes (and slurs).
