You are able to run older Cubase versions on the same (or lower) level, with the licence. So even if you activate your Cubase Elements 8, and on the eLCC, there will be displayed Cubase Elements 8 licence only, you can launch Cubase Elements 6 with this licence (same as Cubase Elements 7 or Essential 5, etc.).
