Hello Steinberg/Cubase users
I just upgraded from Cubase Pro 10 to 10.5.
I thought that I’d be asked to pay during the upgrade process, but I wasn’t.
But now I can’t open Cubase 10.5 without a licence activation code.
Do I need to go somewhere to (pay and) get that?

I’m not sure what you are referring to as “the upgrade process”, but generally the upgrade (update) process starts by purchasing an upgrade (update). You will then receive an activation code to enter in the eLCC.
Anybody can download and install whatever he wants. To run the application you are required to have the proper license.
So you need to go to the Steinberg online shop and buy the update from Cubase 10 to Cubase 10.5
