Just noticed the fix I’ve been asking for might be in the new 9.10 update

Fixed a performance issue when “Auto Select under Cursor” options was activated.
Will this fix be coming soon for Cubase 8.5.2?

in this link it says they are working on the video engine and hope to be done testing at the end of this month
