Those of you whose software is running on Steinberg Licensing are already enjoying the benefits that this new system offers, such as a simplified license activation, as well as allowing a single user license to run on up to three computers without the physical USB-eLicenser dongle.
If you are still using Steinberg products relying on the obsolescent eLicenser service, we ask you to refer to the information provided on this dedicated page prepared to address any questions that may come up.
When we first shared this information, we were unable to find a solution for validating updates from eLicenser-based products to Steinberg Licensing-based products. However, we have since resolved this issue, and the page has been updated accordingly to keep you informed and ensure your convenience:
- We’ve now locked in a final date on which we will be switching off the eLicenser service. The eLicenser service closes down on May 20, 2025.
- You will be able to update or upgrade your eLicenser-based product even after the eLicenser service has ended, as long as the eLicenser is registered in your MySteinberg account. eLicensers can still be registered after May 20, 2025, as well.
- To upgrade your eLicenser-based version of Cubase AI or Cubase LE, contact the customer support team to receive the latest Cubase AI or Cubase LE license.
- You need to reactivate a Soft-eLicenser-based product before the eLicenser end of the service.
- After the eLicenser end of service, eLicenser-based activation codes can still be used.
